I am happy to supervise PhD students writing dissertations on a wide range of topics in the philosophy of language. I am also happy to supervise dissertations in social ontology that are connected to social institutions, social conventions, social norms, and/or collective intentionality.
I am happy to supervise MA students writing on a wide range of topics connected to the philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, epistemology, and metaphysics (including social ontology).
My approach to supervision is flexible, aiming to find the right supervision style for each individual student. I also prioritize helping students with professionalization, or directing them toward relevant professionalization resources, depending on the student’s career goals.
You are welcome to contact me if you are a prospective or current McMaster graduate student with questions about supervision. In our department we do not officially assign supervisors until the end of the student’s first Fall term, but I am more than happy to have informal discussions with potential supervisees who are considering our graduate programs.
